Rochester's first food incubator breaks ground

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester’s first food incubator business broke ground on Thursday.

It’s called “The Commissary,” and it’s a shared space where companies can make market products and hold cooking classes.

It will be in a new 30,000 square foot space on the first floor of Rochester’s Sibley Building.

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer says the project is expected to create 100 new jobs and anchor downtown’s revitalization.

The Commissary's website says construction should be completed by spring 2020.
